Very nice indeed Skeater

Is that carbon on the nock?

Thanks guys. No, it's phenolic. I keep spraying the end but it keeps getting that milky white to it. I may need more sanding time.
Skeater who?

That looks good Jeff. I have been toying with the pin idea but have just never pulled the trigger.

Thanks guys....Skeater I highly recommend the pin if you fight alignment at all like I do...My first bow I pressed in this form took me F-O-R-E-V-E-R to keep straight (probably my rookie showing through) but the pin worked slick and cut my fuss time to nothing...Gotta say the topless form was slick too. I think my struggles in the past may be related to the radical curves...hard to keep things from slip slidin away...hahaha

Good idea with the center pin.

Thanks Bue...I'll likely stick to that method for every bow I make from now on :bigsmyl:

It looks great Jeff!
I will be using a pin for sure for my next bow. The last one had the 2 super lams shifting to one side about 1” (and of course I only noticed that after glue up :knothead:)
What do you have in your stack? How much taper for these curves?

Samuel, I posted the stack on pg 33 if ya wanna check it out...my 2 bamboo core lams are tapered 0.002/in each and I put my interpretation of the power lam between them with a strip of stable Kor. The first bow I did with this form was 54" but wore me out trying to keep it all aligned while pressing...(splicing all the lams with ea 40 before glue up greatly helped too) you will not regret using a pin

I think I remember Kenny talking about using a spring with the PIN. I'm going to try the pin with the next layup but going to use the pin Kenny talked about with the spring.

That was on a td limb so the pin could compress to the thickness of the limb...
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Jeff that looks interesting.

what part, the form or the weird riser :biglaugh: :big laugh: I had to add wood to an old riser to get it to fit the form...hence the strange design :goldtooth:

I bought a cheap hickory bow for $30 with a little string follow, well made but obviously left strung forever.

I like an occasional seemingly hopeless project to fool with.

Unstrung with string follow and after reflexing and toasting;

Eric, did you steam that bow to straighten out the limbs?
