What are some of your views on static vs working recurve??  Which one is better shooting and which gives better performance??

Was my answer to that question.   A great performing static can outperform a poor performing recurve.  But I think a top performing recurve will always outperform a top performing static.

Is that because of more working limb?
I would rather fail at something above my means, than to succeed at something  beneath my means

I am assuming you mean static as in static recurve tips and recurve as in working recurve tips...

The armadillo wars start today, they can play around in my yard but once they migrate into my winter garden their lives are in peril, more to follow.

Started on my form, MDF rough cut and glued up, spread out the glue with advertisement credit cards,,those things are usefull.
MDF is 3/4--REAL 3/4---so ive got my 1.5 thickness
checked for flatness and square with a level,  a non-dropped-bent-twisted level  :biglaugh:
,
rough cut the form in 3/16 ply, need to sand to the lines, It will be the jig for my router
,
cost 12 bucks so far in materials glue and MDF

Hi everybody. Im new here, although I have been reading trad gang for so many years I feel like I know many of you like you were neighbors.
By the way, Eric, like myself, also have a few long stinky poles with bad smoking habits. Armadillos beware. :o
I was also wondering what is a winter garden? Here in Vermont it’s a starter flat under a grow light next to the wood stove.

Check the curves on template with a flexible ruler or a pc of glass against the light to find any flats or bumps before you rout the form. Some you won't see til you spray the bow.  Don't even ask how I know...:)

Depending on where you store the form and the humidity and temperature swings, the MDF might be inclined to swell.  A couple coats of paint might be a good thing!
