Last night it warmed up to 9degrees.  I opted for a pop up blind.  I should have chosen that the night before.  Negative wind chills are hard to handle in a stand.

After sitting in the blind for about an hour and a half.  I hear the crunching of snow coming in from behind me. Three yearlings show up.  Two were very obvious button bucks with about an inch of antler showing.  The third one I could not see bumps on the head so I target that deer.  It stops at twelve yards and turns quartering away.  I draw my bow back hitting anchor.  I find my gap.  I let the arrow rip.  The deer jumps string but I still get a good solid chest shot.  I hear running for a few seconds then crash.  When I get out of the blind and walk over to the location of the shot.  I look towards where I hear the crash and I see a brown looking log with red bubbles coming out of it.  I walk over and find this.

A cleaned up picture.  Gear if anyone cares.  5 layers of wool on the top and a goose down vest in between.  Carharts flannel lined pants and insulated coveralls.  Since it was very cold I choose to use my light bow a Hoyt satori 55lbs at my 31.5" draw. Full-length Easton axis 340 with brass insert and a muzzy125 grain three blade with 4 five inch feathers fluorescent yellow.  It turned out to be a button buck after all.

Jan. 10, 2019.

Fort Pierce, FL hog hunt w/ Jim Dussias at Olde Florida Bowhunting.

A fun trip even though I didn't get a shot opportunity.  My buddy did get 2 hogs though.

I will definitely be hunting with Jim again.

A swing and a miss tonight.  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
Shot right under this guy tonight.
Last light with three other deer around. Pretty sure I short stroked it. Couldn’t adjust my stance and my elbow was hitting the tree. Even if I don’t get another shot, I hope he doesn’t leave the area. Would love to have his sheds.

It is real distracting when your elbow comes up against something...

Hope you get to see him again!!

Thanks guys. I can’t spare the time to sit around and feel sorry for myself. Pulled cards today just out of curiosity. That big eight was back in there 4-5 hours later. So he must not be spooked too bad. But I also have a plan B. Plan B is actually bigger. The only reason he is plan B is because the other buck showed himself first :biglaugh:
By the way.....I was there when this pic was taken. Like a dummy, I didn’t take my bow with me to check cameras.  Luckily I spotted him first and backed out undetected. By the time I went to the truck and got the bow, he was gone.

Nice BB, ESP! They sure eat well.

Nothing going on here except small game. They’re winning and I’m down an arrow with more sure to come since the ground is solid again. Hard to stalk with it so crunchy though!
