Anyone have contact info for the lady archer out of Alabama that sell's her hats at 3d shoots and shows under the name "the Alabama Hat Lady"? I believe her husband originated "Woodyweights". She is also a champion long bow shooter. I own two of her hats and really like them. I provided Teresa Asbell with contact info a few years ago and now I cannot find it. She just might be a good contact for Terry or anyone else interested in a good hat for the traditional archer.

I’d like bucket style.
Maybe Teresa could make a wool model and a summer cotton version.

I would be interested in a short brim boonie type. How about with gortex?

A short brimmed boonie or bucket hat would be nice.  Would have to see the hat first, and yea I'm one of those big headed people so size would be important.

Have a couple of bucket hats from Day One ----- take a look and see if you like that style---I use my ASAT Day One Hat hunting until colder weather pushed me to wool.

Patches would be good too.

Camo bucket hats are my choice for warm weather bowhunting. I like to fold the front of the brim up so it doesn't touch the bow string at all when I shoot. I would jump on getting a new one in one of the predator-type open patterns or woodland camo or pretty much any warm-weather camo pattern. The Trad Gang logo is just icing on the cake.

Dang Smokin Joe, if it weren't for those deer killer eyes, I would have totally missed you in that photo.  Become The Tree!  :archer:

Hey Terry,

The predecessor to the boonie was the jungle hat. It has a shorter brim. Rothco makes the jungle hat and are marketed by various Army Surplus sites. They are crushable and will be a bit stiff at forst but mine softened up nicely after a few washes. I love bucket style hats but they are virtually non existent in camo now. The jubgle hat is a suitable alternative.

Terry - I've used Queensboro (shirts, etc.) and Landsend(business) for shirts, caps, etc.  and both have very good quality and will custom design and embroidery (logos, etc.).

As well, I've worn a boonie since being in SE Asia, but the regular Army ones that I have I don't like to wear when shooting a bow - as some others have said, that brim is just too wide (in my opinion too).  Bucket hat style is good for me.  Kuiu is #1 quality, if we could get a deal.

No matter what, please count me in for one of everwhat you come up with.  Dark Green w/ orange embroidery (like those ls t-shirts) is fine with me!  Doesn't have to be wool.

I second Duncan’s suggestion of a Rothco JUNGLE hat $14 and a shorter brim.

I personally like the Bucket hats because of the brim size. Bonnie's brims are usaully too big or too stiff than on most buckets.

I’d order one. I agree on the shorter brim.

The pentagon hat that hick stick showed would be good if you could find it cheaper . Looks like a good design .

I like the bucket hat that Jason Samkoviac wears.  I think it is from Bass Pro Shops.  Cheap and effective.

Galaxy Sports in Madisonville, KY 42431 is already setup for some Trad Gang embroidery work.

Obtained authorization from Rob DiStefano years back for personal use such as for hats and shirts.

Galaxy has an assortment of broadhead outlines with 'Trad Gang' detailed within the BH outlines.

I have a short brimmed boonie from a company called Rapid Dominance or RAPDOM. I have had it about 15 years and it's still going strong. The company is or was in Compton, CA. They came in over 7 colors if I remember correctly. Mine is Ciyote brown/khaki tan.

I did some research Rapid Dominance is still in business but the hats are not made in the USA. Recce a German company also makes a nice short brimmed boonie hat. I see them on the infamous auction sight quite often.
