Thanks. I used smooth-on. I use it for all parts of my bow, generally even the overlays.

Now I guess I need to make my jigs so that it all glues up into a riser nicely. While I love the riser jigs I've made once they're done, I always put off the making them part too long. But with 6 weeks to go, I better get after it. Who knows when my back will go out and I'll need some time to recover?

Finished up my swap bow. This was my first takedown and my fourth bow build. I learned a lot through this build for my next takedown. I’m already thinking about the next one.

Wow dannon that turned out great. Love the riser.

Got the first layer of handle on tonight. Gotta true up some maple to add a little depth to the handle tomorrow but should be getting a bend in the limbs soon. Got everything else dang close to where I want it.

Gonna get lams tapered for #2 and glue it up as a blank just in case. Will be a hickory backed trilam.

Well done Dannon!

Looks like there will be a couple more bows being received soon. Getting close to half way I'm thinking.

I have to apologize to my victim. I’ve been a real laggard this year. All the overtime at work has beaten me down and I’m doing things too slowly. I’m taking a few days off to turkey hunt and re-charge and when I get back my first priority will be to finish my bow. The bar has been set really high and I want to be focused when I build the limbs. I have several nice risers built and waiting to go.
Happy Easter everyone!
Dave.

Man I cant get in them MRI tubes. To claustrophobic the closed one I did they knocked me out. Open ones are ok but still hate them.

Well guys I may have screwed the pooch tonight. My inexperience reared it’s head and I got way too far ahead of myself. Rookie mistake for sure. Roy has given me guidance and I know what I need to do but not sure if I can fix it with the confidence to send it. As far as my plan B goes I no longer have confidence in it.

I’m gonna try to fix my oops tomorrow and see where I get. If I don’t feel that I can produce a bow I’m proud of then I will have to back out of the swap. So stay tuned for my day of reckoning.

Pics of where it’s at currently.
