The recurve part sounds dangerous Dave. Better wear your PPE on the tillering tree. Can't wait to see it though, sounds really cool

My first one went off like a bomb. I haven’t tried one since, but I really would like to get one built.

The bamboo I have is 1 3/4” wide,so I’m thinking of going full width and tapering the last 8 or 10 inches to 1/2 inch tips.
I’ll have to figure out the core thickness and I think I’ll put in tip wedges.

I have my 1st glue up done. White pine bends real smooth and easy. Made a quick repair, the knot might still be an issue. Guess we'll see what happens.

lignphile, the cling wrap is to keep the ends of the block from checking. It's super dry in my shop. Not sure if it helps or not but it's worth a try.

Well this is what I settled on. Gonna be a Myrtle and Wenge riser with Cottonwood veneers. I hate using fiberglass for accents but it looked to good with the combo not to.

Thanks guys, now I just need to hit poundage! This is only my second try on this form so my victim is going to be used for some research and development. I forgot to figure to lack of veneers on the first test bow. Came in 24 pounds at 28"s. It shoots good, spits a 500 grain way over spined arrow at 131 fps.

Me thinking this is the primary stuff. Got to add a little color to the striped maple.   :bigsmyl: Gonna suck some Cactus juice into it with color.
