Dave, thanks so much for the bow.  I've been wanting a bamboo belly/bamboo back bow for a while now, so it was perfect timing to get this one.  The handle is really comfortable and looks great too.  I had to increase the brace height a tad, but once I did that it shoots really sweet.  I need to pull out the chrono and match some arrows to it as it seems fast.
I'll have to get with you on process of carbonizing the boo.  I definitely need to try this now that I've seen what a great bow can come from it.  Oh and thanks for the seal skin!   Great job Dave!

I can't straighten my left arm all the way, but other than that I don't feel it when I'm shooting.  The only affect my arm injury has really had on me is that I can't do press exercises at the gym anymore.  So only a minor adjustment to my life.  Oh and my arm wrestling career is over  ;)

Thanks for the comments guys.
Flem, no glass, only gwass.  ;)
I’m glad that you like it Ben. Let me know what you get if you chrono it. I’ve always been curious. It’s easy to burn the belly lam. Once I get the bamboo flattened on the jointer, I take a propane torch to the outside of it. It blackens very quickly. I burn it until I see the waxy coating char. Just be careful to not let it catch fire. Give it a few minutes to cool and you’ll notice that the inside where you planed it is convex now. I think this is a good thing because now I can plane it and sand it really thin.
Pm me if you have questions.
Dave.

Well I got around to getting both limbs glued up. Got them sanded down and laid out. Hopefully I’ll have a string on them by the end of the weekend.

Yeah Kenny, but everyone needs a little pink in this swap!

So for those of you that are following closely, you'll notice that there isn't a lot of mystery left. Somehow this year when I was drawing names out of the hat (or maybe it was a bowl, can't remember...) I checked to see that people didn't have who they had last year, that people who requested wood or glass were good, but forgot to make sure two bowyers didn't have each other as victims. And sure enough, we had two pairs this year! My apologies, but it seems that all is working out regardless. OkKeith sent me a note that he's been away on work travel after the storms but that the bow should have just been sent on his behalf. Dannon is rolling on plan B with a little over two weeks left in the grace period so I'm not too worried. And I think after seeing plan A his victim will be ok waiting just a touch longer.

Thanks to everyone who helped make this one of the most on-time swaps ever. Appreciate the commitment!

And as for me, my new arrows to tune to the swap bow for hunting season showed up today and are slowly acquiring their feathers. I can't wait!

Thanks for facilitating everything. Looking forward to next year. So many cool bows this year really making me want to try new things. The fiberglass takedown sleeve is on my must try list now for sure.

Good job everyone.

When you get tired of it, send it back Roy. I’ve got a young niece it’d be perfect for...

I agree it was fun. Nice group, very supportive.
And a huge thanks to you Dave for all the work you did :clapper:
I still have some work to do though. Need to finish my first failure, but the kid I was going to give it to has dropped off the radar with his Mom. That and I need to make Tim a replacement, the one I sent was blemished and just a stop-gap. Hopefully he will find someone who needs a bow to give it too, when he gets the replacement.
Giving kids/teens homemade Bows is one of my favorite things to do. I'm pretty sure roaming the woods with my Bow kept me out of a lot of trouble when I was young!
