I use chap stick , works nicely but string wax would last longer. I have to redo about once a year...

What’s this Kenny? Combination #638? :biglaugh:
Are you workin on your trade bow, or just showing off customer orders?

That looks like it’s custom colors to match somebody’s 50 something Chevy.

Oh I'm workin on my trade bow, but it's only # 632 …

Actually that IS a blank I'll be shipping in a day or two.  :biglaugh:

The trade bow is overweight about 2.41# and I think it will come in right when I finish sand...

I came across a piece of wood with awesome growth rings today. I think I might change my swap build.

What do you all think? That knot shouldn’t be a problem should it? 🙃

Well, moving slowly along. I have been mapping and adjusting limbs today.
I draw a line along the back of limbs and then flip the bow over, I want both limbs to bend the same. Sometimes they come in right, but this one needed some adjusting. For me this bow making gives a lot of head scratching, even though the limbs are exactly the same thickness and made on the same form, they do not always bend the same. I usually check at brace and 18-20 inch draw.

At the drawlenght asked for by mr. X. The tips will be narrowed a bit when tip reinforcement is in place. It will look a little different when drawn by hand since the hook on the string is a little below finger setting.
Checked weight with digital scale and weight is right. Puh.

That sure looks nice Bue
I would have a hard time getting anything done in your shop. It looks so cozy, I would spend all my time sitting by the wood stove with a cigar and some Aquavit.

Ok Elroy here’s a pic for proof. Some lams that had a big crook to them and couldn’t sell so ground them thin and they will bend sideways...

All yer gettin for now....

Stay sharp, Kenny.
