those are both really nice set of lams. If I were building a bow out those, I think pairing the top with a nice piece of myrtle and black accents would be the bomb.
For the bottom, its wide open. A nice piece of bocote, cocobolo or even charcoal dymondwood would really stop the train. you wouldn't even need accents with that stuff.
I have no idea what I 'm doing yet. If this trade is supposed to be forging new trails, then I'm looking at a tri-lam ala the wizard Mr. Roy himself or I have even thought of getting plans off of Kenny and wading into the short longbow territory. I have always thought that anything shorter than 64" shouldn't be called a longbow but hey, I'm not the only guy on the planet either. last year, Shred sent me one of his 62" 42# bows. I took that thing out deer hunting and it was a pleasure to have in my stand.
