for bocote, cocobolo, I've used super glue for a sealer and it works really well, keep layering it on and sanding down until all the pores are filled then apply any finish you prefer. it comes out looking like glass if finished properly. Unless of course you like the look of open pores in wood then just a couple layers of super glue will work. You need to do at least one maybe two because those tropical woods can be finicky on finishes. I had to start doing it like this because I couldn't get anything to dry on it. ended up having to steel wool gummy finishes off many bow risers because of this.
