Lot's of nice bows being made. Hopefully I'll be able to join the fun next year. Looks like a good group!

Sure are some purty bows being made. My nephew snookered me into letting him use my work shop to work on his car. It's been two weeks and he's still not close to being done yet.
I managed to get into the shop yesterday and take some twist out of one of the billets. Got everything lined up well enough that I glued them up today. Put some deflex in when I glued them. Hopefully I can get it cleaned up tomorrow and put some reflex in. Please excuse the mess. I barely have room to get around my nephews stuff.

How much weight did you hang on it? I have one with a nasty twist too that I need to finish some day.

If that wrench don't do it you can always hang the motor on it. :)

That’s one way to get more horse power in a selfbow :o
I guess that’d be ok. There’s no wheels with that engine :biglaugh:

Got some final supplies. Got kids conferences this week when the bow group meets so I’m yet another week behind. Hope to get something accomplished over the weekend but kind of limited on tools and heat here at home. Getting a few more good snow storms to slow me down, but I think I’m all set on materials so now just need time.
Everyone’s bows are looking good so far and hope to join those ranks soon.

Don't know. :dunno: The wrench is pretty heavy and I hung a small bucket about half full of water on it. Wrapped wet rag covered with foil around area I wanted to twist and heated with heat gun until it twisted to where I wanted it. Let it cool overnight before taking wrench off. Appeared to be around 20 deg of twist.
If that wrench don't do it you can always hang the motor on it. :)
Was afraid that the spun rod bearing in that motor would cause weird hand shock.   :jumper:

I didn't think pulleys were allowed on trad bows.  :nono:

Well you see it will still be a single string but those are so when you draw it brings the two halves together. It’s a very complex takedown design and people with spun bearings on an ecotec engine in there shop probably wouldn’t understand .

In all seriousness though I need to build a draw tree and those pulleys have been sitting on my tool box at work for 2 years for such a purpose. Finally remembered to grab them when I did some spring cleaning the other day at work.

Look what I found at the post office! Lonnie you built a beauty of a bow! I shot it a little in the shop tonight and it shoots great. I really like the Redheart. I didn't have anyone to take full draw pics so Ill post them later.
