Thats sucks Kenny. I was thinking the same thing as Ben. Any way to build up the tenon? Thin layer of epoxy? Never having made a take-down, I don't have a clue what your up against.

I'm gonna shelf it for awhile and build another one. Not gonna send anything out that I'm not 100% on.
Stay sharp, Kenny.

How far down does your wood go on the front of the top part. I like at least an inch and more would be better.
It is hard to say what may have happened until you try to grind it back off
. I always smear some resin on the bare wood before wrapping. and try to hold those first layers really tight.

I hate to see that Kenny. It’s a nice looking bow. It is fixable though. You can cut and grind the glass off and make another sleeve.

If it’s for me.....I say fill the hole with smooth-on and slam her back together. Put that t-Rex hide on it and ship it. I ain’t skeered and don’t mind a one piece.  :bigsmyl: And if I hear anymore ticking, I’ll take the T-Rex off and wrap her up with duct tape. That s#*t will hold anything together.

I had a tick once with a takedown for the swap:

The sleeve half still pokes the fire and serves shots at ETAR thanks to Sweka.
