well, at the start of this thing...I thought...why not do something I've never done before. I've always wanted to build a hill style longbow so I thought why not? so, I built a form and pulled the prototype bow off the form today. Thanks to some on here for tips on layup, I was able to hit #50 right off the form. once I sand it, i'll probably lose a couple pounds but overall, came out right where I wanted it...so I've pretty much set on one of these or a selfbow for the trade...just need to make a decision and go with it.

Had a serious shop cleaning. Was in great need after the Bloodwood and Rosewood masacre and spraying. That fine Bloodwood dust are real greasy and clogs the dust suction machine. Have two takedown recurves finished including the swap bow. Shall make strings tomorrow.

Nice 👍🏻. Have you tried using seal skin for arrow rests and strike plates? It’s super slick and quiet.

I don't think anyone would mind if that bow showed up on their doorstep.   :clapper:

Got the osage belly lam and red elm core lams z spliced up last night and an awesome birdseye maple riser prepped.  Prepped tip overlays out of black ebony. First time using that, got it at an estate sale for a guy who built gun stocks. Got a bunch of awesome wood at that sale.
