That looks really nice Kenny and it helped me out. I have about 4 risers worth of Cherry with some nice wavy character. I just have not been able to figure out what veneers would go with it. It's similar in color to what you have there so I'll bet either spalted maple or that Tamo Ash would do well.

Ordered glass from Kenny and started the riser glueup this weekend. Getting there. Hope my victim thinks yew, Osage, and pink go well together.

BTW, I don't know why some of you like that yella wood so much. It makes the shop seem so much messier. The picture doesn't do it justice, but one little piece of osage and my whole shop is smack you in the face yellow...

I'm going on round two. Actually have real Walnut this time around. Did learn that Butternut will make a good kids Bow :banghead:


Going to have to decide on a riser


Still need to layup some glass. Hopefully tomorrow. Need to get this thing done.

ok so I don't see many wood bows going on so i decided to build a self bow to put some variety in this place. help me vote on a stave. hickory on left, ash in middle, osage on right

I've only seen Mountain and Oregon Ash. I guessing yours is something else?
