Yup. Burnt her black! 😁
They’re sweet shooting bows, and they look good too. That is when you don’t build them too heavy. 🤬
I have the sister riser and more lams, so I’ll get another one glued up.

Here’s a picture of it to give you an idea of what the belly looks like.

So we are looking at charred Bamboo? Thats pretty wild. Never heard of that, what's the advantage other than it's got to look really cool?

Finished roughing the riser and got to shoot Mr. ****'s new bow a little tonight.

It's ok. I guess.

Bow does look nice Dave.  What's that device it's resting on?

Koa Koa Koa. Looking at your bow Dave, I just noticed an advantage of the forward handle. No cutting glass!
Thats got to make the lay-up easier. I'm a little slow sometimes :knothead:

My edge sander. Designed and built it so I could get an entire longbow limb on the platten without it taking up my whole shop. Love that thing. Tried it with a 36 grit belt for the first time on this bow. Wow.

Cutting glass is easy. Reverse handle usually means more work IMO. I need to splice more lams before glue-up. And the double curvature makes it a bit tougher to get good glue lines if any lams up the back of the bow get thick, which means if I want to run a core lam and veneer up the back I end up with with 5 laminations total instead of 4.

I clamp the glass down flat on a piece of wood and the hacksaw it with a fine blade straight across.  Works fine and is cheap.
