Anyone shoot the new Shrew and a Javaman?

I've shot both before but I haven't gotten to shoot the new re-designed Shrew.  Did any of you get to shoot them at the expo for comparison? 

I realize that bows are a personal thing and what one likes, another may not, but from the perspective of smoothness of draw, quietness, and feel after the shot type impression is what I am after.

I brought this one home. 54", 50# @ 28"
I'm a pretty good judge of Li'l Favorite shootability. I helped Ron name the first edition, and killed a bunch of critters with it. It was my go to bow for years, it was superb.

This one is better. The handle, perfect. All Shrew's have the unique grip, I think it is epitomized on the L'il Favorite. The original Li'l Fav took some tweaking to silence (that's on me, I'm weird about bow noise). This one? Quiet with a naked string. I did put some 2-Tracks silencers on it, and it is a dull thud/whisper. Perfect.

Glue lines and finish are flawless.

I have better than 200 arrows through it since Sunday. It is getting better with every shot. Tomorrow night I shoot my league....I can't wait.

Buy with confidence, absolutely.

What's your drawlength Roger?  54 inches seems awful short, even though it's designed to be that way.

I have shot both and prefer the Javaman bows.  To me, the Elkheart and Helms Deep feel smoother and no pinch at my 30" draw.  To me, also, I like that Gregg's bows are built right here in MI by hand and one at a time.  As with most things, opinions vary and I would suggest trying each for yourself and making your own choice.  Hope that helps.

I have been looking at the Helmsdeep pretty reasonable for the base custom bow  How is the Helmsdeep at 56 inches for a 29 inch draw?

I really like some of his options.  Any pics of your Helmsdeep?

I really wanted to shoot the Shrew bows at Kzoo but the lovely weather prevented me from Going this year. I have shot and owned a Javaman " Helms Deep" and have shot ElkHearts as my oldest son has a few. Just love how that style of bow carrys and shoots.

I shoot just over 28 inches and the new 54” Lil Favorite  is smooth and fast.  It’s better than prior builds for sure.

56" Helms / Lil' no problem for 29 whatsoever.  54 would even do it fine and have some extra zip.

I saw Henry Bodnik put these bows through the ringer at Kalamazoo since their booth was right beside Northern Mist.  He was doing things to those limbs that made me cringe. I really expected him to be just another businessman chasing a dollar, but I gotta say he definitely isn't. He's just as passionate about traditional archery as anyone I've met. He's also really into the history of this sport from the American perspective. I didn't get a chance to shoot one since I was really busy and only got to shoot a few bows.

I did get to shoot a bunch of Javaman bows. The Impala Supreme is superb. That is one fine bow. I loved it. I also liked the Falcon a good bit. I have a true 30 1/2" draw and I don't think you could go wrong with either. Gregg is a great guy as well, so I don't think personal character will be a deterrent either way.
