Arrow Slapping Shelf
« on: April 01, 2008, 09:47:00 PM »
I'm shooting a 64", 47# @ 28" Horne Traditionalist bow. I pull 27". The best bareshaft arrow was a 1916, 28", with a 175 grain pt. I shoot 3 under. The bow appears to be even tiller. I normally shoot a 5/8" nocking pt. I have tried between 4/8" to 6/8" nocking pt and I still am getting some arrow slap(not every time) on the left edge of the arrow rest. I shoot right handed. I am looking for suggestions. Should I move the nocking pt up or down????? Thanks! Craig

Try to put most of the pressure on the top 2 fingers and as little as possable on the ring finger.

Some times i find myself putting to much on the ring finger this makes my elbow get to high and also makes me torque the string and the latter will make an arrow slap the shelf no matter how high your nock is.

When I had that problem on my Black Douglas I moved the nock up, it looks high but shoots perfect.
