Do not get a Shack Attack if you plan on using a 62” bow. It can work, but the angle has to be just right and you are limited in movements. I like the blind,but will be using a 58” recurve out of it.

DBD870... You'll be fine with 30# Just make sure your arrow is well tuned to the bow and your broadhead like a razor. I'd choose a long narrow broadhead. Like the Grizzly.

For the few times I anticipate getting out, I will be using a 58” PCHX, 45lbs, 30” 6mm FMJs, 75 grain brass inserts with 175 grain 3 blade VPAs, out of a Primos Shack Attack blind, Avian X hen and Jake decoys. Seth, maybe get together for a hunt or two?

How do you like that shack attack blind.  Im looking into getting a blind that will work for bows up to 62" without having to lean to much to not hit the roof.  DO the windows go low so you can shoot something at like 5 yards?

My rig is the same as my deer set up. Northern Mist Shelton that is 68" long and is 53# at 28" draw. I use wood arrows with two blade broadheads at 125 grains. I sit in a brush blind of all natural materials. I use my turkey target as a decoy along with a hen decoy. I am considering a laminated all wood bow at 54# with river cane arrows and stone points also. I have never killed anything with a stone tipped arrow. I just wish I was a better caller!

I’m handling 20# fine and I ordered 30# limbs which should be here tomorrow. My original 40# limbs are a no go unfortunately. If I can handle 30# do you think I should try it on them or am I asking for trouble?

I've got a 45# board bow that I made that shoots a tad slower than my 30# recurve with the same arrows.  Maybe it's not ideal but I think it would get the job done.

Changed over from my Samick, which I used to take a turkey last year, to a short 50", 47# Browning Cobra.  Arrows are short as well -- only 28" to the back of the point.  I can sit with my a** to the grass & hold the same canted position as standing.  Going with woodies this year.  680 grains all-in with 2-bladed Zwickeys up front.

Hoping to get out this weekend to scout out a new spot.  Bow won't do me much good if I can't find something dumb enough to come to my sqawking.

I can't wait we have a 2 1/2 weeks to go until our opener in GA and a youth hunt the weekend before.  I am hunting with my Thunderchild 46#@28" and I draw to 29".  My arrow set up is a 500 Beman Centershots with a 50 grain insert and a big Magnus Snuffer up front which I don't think they make anymore.  The broadhead with the adapter is 170 grains so 220 with the insert.  I have a pop up blind but have been thinking of trying the Primos Stakeout blind which looks pretty portable.

TNX it measures 32# at 28” and I find I need to short draw it just a little bit to be able to use it so it looks like 30# is right at the top end of what I can handle. After a year and a half I suspect that’s about where I’m at for good now. I’m really tempted to use some deer type broadheads, make my max 15 yards and give it a shot

I don't use blinds, but i do have a Big Jim Bush in a Bag.  Question, I have Permethrin 10%.  Am i thinking correct, that one half ounce in 10 ounces of water would equal the ready made commercial stuff?  What ratio do others use? Ticks are thick in our river areas around here every year in spring.

Due to having an ongoing fight with cancer I've had to drop down in draw weight for now. I'll be using my 42lb Bear Montana, ICS Bowhunter 500s with a 125 grain two bladed Magnus Stinger up front. Its a comfortable setup that I shoot pretty well.

Kwyk Styk, 56” and 50@28. 29” gold tip trads tipped with Simmons Tigersharks (175 grains) OR 125 grain Tom Bombs with 100 grain inserts. Primos ground max pop up and a variety of calls.

I’ve been shooting at tennis balls from a stool at 10-15 yards. Hitting 4 out of 5.

Really considering trying the Tom Bombs. Seems like a kill or miss proposition.

I am hoping to finish with a compound to recurve project I have going and use that bow for turkey this year. I like the Gold Tip arrows and will tune the setup to shoot with the Piledriver 2-Blade Screw-In, 150 gr. Broadheads. The arrows will be fletched with brown and green and cap-dipped in a tan or brown.

When I hunt in a blind, we have a couple of the Double Bull Deluxe blinds. Plenty of room for Lisa and I to both sit in. I have a hunt planned for out west in Oklahoma on some federal and state land. That will be a "spot and stalk" or quick set up situation and I will be using the pocket blind rig I have described before. That's where the "camo" arrows are important. Since Turkeys can see color I don't think I want to be waving bright colored fletching around.

Pavan, have you discussed Permethrin with any of the military guys who have been deployed in recent times? I talked with a guy who said they soaked their uniforms in a solution, and it was effective for many weeks. He did not know the dilution ratio, though. The commercial spray that I use is 0.5% permethrin and is very effective. It also lasts through several washings, but I touch up every single time I go out. I've been through a couple of tick borne diseases, so this is very important to me.
