Shooting a few arrows in the yard.
In our big pasture across the road, there are Canada Geese on the pond, a group of Does in the field beyond the pond, 5 Longbeards feeding along the timber line to the south and a Bald Eagle in a big tree watching over it all.

Thank you Lord for setting me down here

I’ve just been looking at that since I received a message from Tony regarding the same thing.
I don’t recall if I registered through Tapatalk or directly, but I don’t remember being given the option to enter my name.
I’ve just been looking through Tapatalk and on the trad gang site directly and don’t find a place to enter that information.
There may be some “technologically challenged” issues at work here

My name is Steve Stewart, if you can add that for me please feel free to do so.
Thank you.

You are blessed indeed.  Glad to have you on board here.

“Pretty sure”
You never know in this day and age, but yeah, you’re assumption is correct.
I just walked in the house. Been across the road listening to those long beards. They gobbled their heads off this morning.
Thank you for the help and BIG thanks for all you do to keep this great forum up and running.

We could all learn from your experience, meaning to stop busy time consuming live style and see God's creation more often. Thanks for sharing.

Steve, sounds like you have a pretty awesome spot to shoot your bows and more importantly recognize how blessed you are!

This all started with the re-discovery of the ‘59 Bear Alaskan my Dad bought the year I was born.
After seeing a PBS show featuring stick bows, I dug it out and got it shooting, with the goal of taking a deer with it while Dad was still alive to see it.
That dream came true a few weeks back.
I started a couple of threads here about the bow and the kill.
The Alaskan and an even older 30# recurve Dad got for my Mom are the only ones I have.

Had a few blessings too. Got to go on a drive type safari when I was working for a few days in South Africa just three weeks ago in the Pilanesberg National Park in South Africa. Styed in a private lodge (Black Rhino Lodge) and our guide got us on the Big Five in less than 30 hours. Could never afford such a trip but my client sent me on this one while I was down there. As many if not more memories were made as those bow hunting deer hunting camps I experienced in the past.

Always amazed at how I can still shoot a beautiful rack of '59 to '62 rosewood recurves as well as some newer ones, and they work well to keep up a lifetime or archery memories and interests.

I didn’t take any yesterday. My phone is my camera and it’s not good at a distance.
This picture is the same field, taken from my porch last spring.
You can make out a small flock of turkeys behind the pond. Those two big black balls in the center are the gobblers in full strut.

Here’s what one of ‘em looked like up close

This is my avatar, the bow and the doe I took with it.

I love shooting this bow, and I hope I never need another one.
Out of character for a gear junkie like me.

Hi Steve, Thanks for sharing with all of us the verbal view from your porch, your Father's bow story and the awesome photos.  The main reason I enjoy my trad hunting so much is I feel like I'm entering God's house each time I enter the woods.  I know it ain't heaven, but dang it's got to be as close as it gets on this side of eternity.  Can't tell ya how many times after a long, quiet walk in the dark I finally sit against a comfortable tree, take some slow relaxing breaths and have a much needed talk with the Creator  .   When I finally open my eyes its often already burning daylight  :o .  Great conversations in a perfect location.  I too feel very Blessed!!!
