Lost my job, could use prayers for wisdom and discernment.
« on: March 28, 2019, 07:23:50 PM »
Could use some prayers for my next job.
Lost mine today in a reorganization.
Looks like they culled the oldest workers on the list.   :dunno:

Prayers for open doors and the discernment to know where the Lord would have me go next.

Thanks and God Bless,
Jack

John,

I don't know I have any discernment or wisdom to give you but you'll have my prayers... We're seeing far too much of this sort of thing... there used to be concern with riff'ing older folks for fear of 'age discrimination' but that seems to have gone the way of the Dodo bird...

I had a similar thing happen to me late in my career where I was on deck for the bestest job of my career and a week before they were to come, pack and move me, with all the rentals in place etc at the far end of the state, they reorganized and eliminated my job...

I sat in the middle of the floor and bawled...

I probably didn't walk in faith as strongly as I should have with that set back and will pray you do better and that you find sustenance and direction ASAP

Jack,
I'll pray for you as well and that God has a better plan for the direction you go from here.
Some company's like to "CLEAN" HOUSE " and sometimes they start with the the folks who have the most seniority or the oldest !
I used to work for a major brand tooling company but they slowly did what I just explained to get more foreign workers/migrants to come in for less pay and then that company went to Mexico. Over or nearly 2000 people in our small town lost their jobs and that put a sour taste to those who worked there . I try not to buy their products now and they built for several company's so I buy other brands instead now.
I was taught to always give more to a company and every day I give an extra hour of time ,never late but sometimes that company doesn't appreciate those sort of folks anymore .
Some company's just see folks as a number not a human and when ready to depart or go another direction could care less of the lives they ruin.
Anyway I'll put you in Prayer and praying something comes quick for you in Jesus name.

This is always a devastating blow at first (I know, I have been there), but hang tough, you will get through it. At this time, you are the sparrow, and His eye is on you. He will not abandon you.

Thanks all, this is why I love this community.

A praise to the Lord...
I spent most of the day yesterday fielding calls from head hunters, friends and acquaintances all already working on helping with a new position.  I even had a phone interview, less than 24 hours from being laid off.

I hadn't initiated a thing - this was all word of mouth and the Spirit moving.

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men - Col 3:23
