I'd like to ask you folks to please give me some input. So as not to tie up TG so much please email me via my
[email protected] address and I'll try to get back with everyone.
I'll try to keep this brief. I did my whitetail bootcamps for 15 years and closed the doors because of the physical limitations due to my age and physical high mileage. I've just recently brought out my new two-volume DVD set which is a step in the right direction. I have full intentions of bringing out more volumes down the road. But the fact still remains I just scratched the surface with info on those productions. I'm concerned our youth of today are being taught the only way to hunt whitetails is from a shooting house over a food plot. We are to blame some for not teaching them the woodsmanship skills that bring the true fun into a hunt. My intentions are to share with you whitetail fans proven techniques and strategies that have worked well for me over the years. Then I want you to share the info with our youth in order to plant the seeds of our future hunting generations deeply.
I'm looking to go on "tour" to share my opinions. These will be FREE two-hour seminars on whitetail hunting. Although I am a purist bowhunter, these seminars will be on whitetail hunting more so than archery/bowhunting. I want to spread the word among hunters in general rather than a specific group.
I'm wanting to keep these seminars to a 100 to 150 attendees per evening rather than the "big box" stores. This is to keep it more so on a personal level rather than a huge crowd. I've done these before and they've been very well received. I'm looking for medium-sized sporting goods stores. Not really a tiny small local store but one that could hold 100 to 150 attendees. Some stores actually have a seminar room where they hold occasional lectures/classes, etc. Some archery shops have indoor shooting lanes where they can set up folding chairs. That would work too, but I want to emphasize the seminars will be on whitetails not archery-only.
My plan would be a two-hour lecture on hunting whitetails. Doors open at say 5PM; seminars from 6PM to 8PM, etc. These would be free to attendees. All I would ask from the store owners would to be allowed to sell my books and DVDs after the seminars. I would send the store posters in order for them to advertise the date/ times/ location, etc. The local store would do the marketing. One night only, then on to the next location. It'd be a win/win/win situation. The store owners would get the exposure locally for no cost and minimal work; the attendees would get a free seminar to hopefully hand down to our youth and I'd get to sell some DVDs/books.
Anyway, if you have a local store that you think would fit the bill I'd like you to contact me via my
[email protected] email. I can't guarantee you anything but I'd like to work out a schedule of potential towns where I can logistically create a route between stops. I mean, I couldn't do a show in say New York state, then the next one in Ohio and the next in Alabama or something. That'd be up to me to develop a plan based on the most logical potentials.
That's about it. So I thank you all for any input. I'm dead serious about doing this so please help me "knock one out of the park" and help our future whitetail hunting generations. Thanks. BW
