"Dark Timber" arrows are in! Seems like I've been talking about these forever. What they are is a wood grained finish, 5/16" carbon shaft at a very affordable price in spines and weights as follows:
340 = 10.1 gpi
400 = 9.5 gpi
500 = 8.5 gpi
600 = 7.5 gpi
700 = 6.5 gpi
800 = 6.0 gpi
The "Dark Timber"s are my own personal brand made by a reputable company for me. It has taken me over a year to get them how I wan't them.. and may still be minor changes in the future such as the graphics may change slightly and the length may change.
Right now, all lengths are 33"s long. In an effort to keep the pricing down, I may have to drop them to 32"s.
It's not about the amount of material, but the extra inch results in a higher percentage of shafts getting culled due to straightness.
WARNING!!! DON'T USE ACETONE ON DARK TIMBER SHAFTS!!!
Denatured alcohol is ok, but the acetone may smudge the finish.
I have been shooting these for 9 months now and have had not had any finish wear off at all. The shafts are consistent and very durable, but the pattern DOESN'T LIKE ACETONE!
Having said all that, if you were quick and used a light touch to remove the graphics, it may not hurt, but you have been warned.
The Dark Timbers have an inside diameter of .245. They will not accept the "Gold Tip" nocks and inserts. However, they will accept the brass inserts not made by Gold Tip... We have brass inserts that will fit these as well.
Also, the components are very reasonable as well.
Thanks, BigJim
