The highly anticipated book.... Silvertip: The Life and Adventures of Paul Schafer, Master Bow Hunter and Bowyer written by Robert Windauer is now available for purchase from the link below.

This will make many folks really happy! Congrats to my father-in-law Bob and to all that assisted in the project. It's a fine tribute to Paul and his life.

Got mine on Friday and finished it by noon Sunday.  Perfect timing for a wet weekend and having the plague.  Great book that gave good insight to the man.

It is very hard to define someones life, who lived as large as Paul Schafer, confined to the 300 plus pages of a book, but Bob did a great job. I like how he told stories of previous events of Paul's life while Paul was on hunts thousands of miles from the original occurrence. It brought us into the glow of those campfires with Paul and his hunting partners as they recouped from hard days of chasing big game.
I liked the overlap of many of the interviews I did prior to writing about Bart Schleyer which I featured in a chapter in my own book. Bob filled in the relationship between Bart and Paul with much more detail. Bob's access and family relationships  to Paul for many years, provided the backbone of this book. I hope you all get your copy, as there is much to learn about archery and bowhunting from the text. Well done Bob and all those who brought these stories to life. Mike

What, exactly, do we mean by traditional?  Is it simply how we have done something in the past?  When did it begin, and where does it end?
Let's have some tenderloin and chocolate chip cookies and discuss.

Finished mine yesterday, we've  had nonstop rain but I think even if it hadn't been raining I wouldn't have put it down.
Very well done and if this book doesn't make you want to get out and live life with a bow in hand, your past helping!

I'm more than half done reading it and it really is great to hear about somebody that was a long ago part of my past.  Me, being a nobody, got to meet Paul and several others mentioned in the book in the late 70's while living in Montana.  I always kept up with most of them through different media since then.  The book is very well written and gives a good look at somebody few really knew well.

I truly  am regretful that I was not able to meet Mr. Schafer.  Just finished "Silvertip" and this book has effected me more than any that I can remember.  Like many I have read some of the articles, and tributes over the years, but this book is an exceptional remembrance of the man and a life well lived.
