Hardcore aluminum guy here. Been shooting them since the 80s. I hunt, shoot 3d and stump shoot. I was just wondering how all you other aluminum guys out there straighten those bent arrows. Shooting 2016 legancys. I find get most of my bends a couple inches behind the tip.

I have used a Groves arrow straightener for years. Simple and effective.

Anyone that shoots aluminum arrows should own an Arizona Arrow Straightener! It is the cat’s meow when it comes to straightening aluminum shafts. I can get shafts nearly, if not all the way back to factory straightness!!!!

I have one of the more expensive straighteners with the dial, have had it for over 30 years. Once I learned how to use it ,it became priceless. Brings those arrows right back to new.Works real good on Woodys too. You really get to see how straight your arrows are,and see how inconsistent some carbons really are.

I also use an Arizona arrow straightener (I've had it about 30 years).

Spin them in my palm to see if they're straight, sight down the shaft to find the bend if they're not, bend them back to straight with my fingers. Works for me.

Has anybody spine tested them after straightening to verify that the stiffness is still corrrect?

I have not spine tested after straightening, but have straightened and then shot again hundreds of arrows over the years. I have never noticed any I’ll effect from straightening. Every once in a while, after straightening shafts that were really bent bad, they seem to bend easier after straightening. But that’s ok, I just don’t use those ones for hunting anymore.

I use one of those hand held thingys that is similar to a pair of pliers. Works good enough for me.

I bought an old straightener with a dial off of a blanket for $5 at Denton Hill years ago. Works great. May not work 2" from the tip though. They get pretty hard to bend there.

I have one of the dial straighteners as well Arizona I believe. I don’t use it as much anymore cause I shoot carbons and woods also. What I do use is the T wrench that came with it from our local dealer. Usually I use these.
