The birth of a longbow, from design to finish.

A bowier I know is wanting to make a short forward handle RD longbow 52".
He knows that I like short bows so I'm getting the first one.
He just finished the form and I had a special riser block made and sent to him.
This is the riser block. Black Buckeye Burl with red resin.

Its rough shaped and I still have to fine sand it and polish.

An update, the bowyer has had too many things on his plate and this build has been on hold.
I will post updates as they come in.
He assures me it's going to happen. I told him not to worry about it, but I hope to get it before October.
He hopes it's not going to be that long.  :archer:
