I have to bow out of this one. The motor on my metal cutting bandsaw caught fire this weekend. Also the tires blew on my wood cutting bandsaw, the guide blocks chipped and have been worn for a while, and it needs some other maintenance.
I’ve been toying with the idea to upgrade the blade guides on my 14” wood saw to bearings and swap the motor to a 3-phase with a VFD so I can use it for both wood and metal. I think it’s time. This overhaul is going to take my play money for a little while but should get my knife shop back up and running so I can keep making knives and donating to the kids with each one sold.
