Natural Bamboo vs Actionboo

Is there any performance advantage to either in an ASL glass laminated style bow?

I think the main reason the actionboo is so popular is consistancy in layups more than performance.

I’ve heard natural has the edge on performance but also heard the rind is where you get the performance so I bet not much diff once you make lams
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Actionboo was something John at Old Master Crafters came up with . It was white and had very thin narrow lamination  and it tended to split when you filled your air hose and made a big failure . The bamboo that we use now is a laminated bamboo with about 1/4 inch thick lams it works great and I think it is superior to regular bamboo slats I buy it in 4'x8' sheets . There is no more actionboo .

I think the reason we call it actionboo is comparing it to actionwood being laminated and used as edge grain cores
. And the bamboo being vertical laminated.

The stuff I got is from Bingham's and they call it Actionboo. This is my first time to use any form of bamboo as a core wood. I have used Osage in my previous bows. This is my first attempt at a Hill style bow as well.

I haveused bamboo flooring exclusively for many years, and simply as a gut reflex as to natural versus actionwood, I am only talking about the two types of 'boo flooring but " believe' the "coffee' type is slightly superior to the natural one due to being heat treated or tempered in manufacture. I have no statistics to substantiate this but other bowyers here have felt the same, that the 'coffee' 'boo was slightly zippier in performance.Simply an observation without proof though.
