footing for axis 600
« on: June 04, 2019, 04:51:41 PM »
Hey gang, I currently shoot Axis with brass inserts out of all my bows. I shoot 600's out f my 3D bow and find they are more fragile than the 500 and 400. What size aluminum shaft will slide on those 600s for a good footing? Any sponsors willing to sell a couple of aluminum shafts? thanks also open to suggestions. I want to stay with 9/32 points if possible.

I believe a 1916 will work, I cut em at 2", and dremmel a chamfer on the edges, and glue them in place with gorilla glue.

Good luck!  I tried finding shaft size for footings on axis trad 340’s and 300’s.  I found a chart, ordered the correct size aluminums and they don’t fit.  I hope you find the correct info!!!!

Tom- that chart might have stated the sizes for axis black shafts. I believe the trads have a coating which makes them slightly bigger

I recently footed some axis trad 600s and I used 1916s.

Of the people who used 1916 to foot their 600 carbons, who had success?  If so, were you satisfied with the results. If not why not?

I need to foot my 600’s bc mine split pretty easily. Thanks

1916 worked good, the difference in thickness of footing if your arrows are shorter is something to consider. i had to taper to keep rest and side plate in tact

1916s will work.  I chamfer front and back w rcbs case chamfer tool.  I glue on w big Jim's hot melt.  1.25 inch footings are what i use.
