Dawson Forest WMA in north Georgia
« on: June 30, 2019, 12:22:41 PM »
Hey guys and gals, has anyone hunted this WMA for deer? Thinking about hunting this spot , only about 45 minutes from the house. Any input will be helpful.....

Yes...there are Deer there...and bear.

Its been over 10 years since I've been....and I went with someone who hunted it.

Its a smallish forest but boarders Big Canoe...Lots of deer on Big Canoe...and they aren't allowed bird feeders because of the bears.

Ron Dawson Forest is just down the street from me.  It actually has two tracts. The Northern tract is generally more mountainous and the other (called the Atlanta tract) is a bit more tame.  I track a lot of deer and bear there every year with my blood dog.  There are some hogs on it as well.
