Joel's 2019 Bear
« on: July 07, 2019, 02:53:50 PM »
My good friend and Bergen Bowmen club member Joel Riotto is a bear hunter extraordinaire, with many northern hunts (and Many bears!) under his belt.  This year's bear hunt took Joel back to Alberta, Canada, along the Athabasca River.  This was a wilderness fly-in hunt with outfitter Jason Lambley, located in Fisher Branch, Manitoba, Canada.

Joel used a Dale Dye custom recurve, 600 grain arrows tipped with Wensel Woodsman heads.

Joel is recuperating & rehabing from shoulder surgery, but maybe I can entice him to join in on this thread and tell the tale of his Alberta bear.

IAM ~ The only government I trust is my .45-70 ... and my 1911.

Wow! That's a nice bear.  Hope he has a quick recovery.
If I'd known that I would live this long I'd have taken better care of myself.
