Hunting Bunnies Down Under
« on: July 07, 2019, 07:58:15 PM »
It all started thanks to Tradgang and some good Mates from near Melbourne Victoria. I was supposed to do some sambar hunting, but my friend I was staying with was having marriage issues. Although thanks to Ben Maher he made my experience down under great. We spent a day flinging arrows and chasing the illusive English rabbit. Not quite a walk in the park compared to our not as skittish cottontails here in Montana. I got some shots in and we then did some great stump shooting. Plus some long range battle for Middle Earth reenactments. A large post for example was an orc at 100 plus yards away that needed a few arrows flung at. Walked away rabbit-less but was a wonderful experience and made some life time friendships can't wait to go back soon..

In the last picture, it looks like the upper string nock is wee bit oversize, what's up that?

HUD,
It’s his clicker, not his string nock.

Yes, Aussie rabbits are off and running at 100 yards. They don’t wait to find out what you are up to.

I first got the itch to hunt Australia back in the 1960's. Since I never got it done I guess I just have to chalk it up as something I'll never do.

Here's an idea. If the bunnies bust out at 100 yards just shoot them at 105 yards. The sitting shots are much easier than when they are running.  :saywhat:
