Shooting differences between the Mcllough and the Holcombs..............
I would say the biggest differnece is the grips. My Mcllough has a very narrow throat. The Holcomb's have a sharp radius throat.
Shooting wise, all three are great performers. They draw very smooth, pretty dead in the hand after string is loosen. I have not fooled around with string material on the Mcllough and thus it is the noisiest. Actually I tried dacron on the Mcllough and the hand shock was pretty significant....but the bow became hush quiet.
They are all stable and accurate. I will give a slight edge to the Mcllough for pointability. The grip on that bow just puts your hand and arm in auto mode when drawing.
Craftsmanship is out standing on all three. These two bowyers have real talent. I really like pretty bows with pretty veneers. But I find the Holcombs with color glass are very pretty. Perhaps it's the romantic thing, being that they are replicas of a bow built in 1959.
hope this helped.....
