Starbond tinted glue...
« on: July 10, 2019, 11:20:15 PM »
Has anyone tried the new Starbond black CA glue? I saw it on a woodworking show. Might have good uses in crack and splinter mending.

Have not tried it, but was reading about it the other day. Thought it was interesting that it is rubberized.
Was thinking the same as you, might be some applications that it would be the ticket.

It looks like a pretty neat products Flem...

I have been watching several YouTube videos where it was used to fill gaps in live edge table tops and such. It seems to be easily sand-able and gives a tight adherence with gap filling capabilities. Might be just the ticket for small spaces in risers or filling voids in knife handles.

If its rubberized just how much structural strength does it have?
If I'd known that I would live this long I'd have taken better care of myself.

Here is a link. https://www.starbond.com/ca-glue/black-medium-ca-glue-ke-150.html

Looks like they have a thick and thin version.
