Lost my Dad this morning
« on: July 26, 2019, 07:12:59 PM »
Well it is with deep sadness that this morning my Dad gave up on life here on earth.
He just had his 85th birthday July 9th and I went to visit him at the nursing home he was at and I could tell then it was just a matter of time before he would give up on life .
My Dad was the sort of man that liked to be alone and not go places or do anything and wasn't a social sort of man But he was a Good carpenter and worn the head on his old eastwing hammer.
He wouldn't visit my wife and I  or family members much and if he did he was always ready to go and get home.
I have a few good memory's of a hunt we shared and with 6 other siblings Dad worked to help my Mom take care of 7 children.
Well to make a long story short I never saw my Dad in Church or ever pray But on his birthday a few weeks ago I wanted to talk to him and I asked him if he knew who Jesus was and he said Yes, I then asked if he ever asked Jesus to forgive him of his sins and again he said Yes. I asked him if he believed He was who He said He was and that He went to the cross for our sins and my Dad again said Yes.
I then teared up and said Dad I Love you and I know you want to pass this life and tired and worn.
We will be ok and I'll let my Brothers and sisters know you are at peace and ready to go Home.
So I am now at peace knowing my earthy Dad has acknowledged and from what I heard him say He believes in Jesus as Lord and Savior for all who believe and ask freely .
Rest in Peace Dad I love you...

Prayers sent
Do not follow where the path may lead.  Go, instead, where there is no path and leave a trail.

Keith,

We've been thru some tough times together.  Loosing parents is a momentous occasion... My mom made 83 and Dad made 90, the hard way--- also in a nursing home.  He was a cabinet maker, but adamant I not follow those footsteps...

I'm proud of and for you to have found peace in his Knowledge and acceptance in the Lord Jesus.

Remember, Grief is a process; not an event.  There is a time for all things; then move on.

May you know the peace that surpasses all human understanding...

Shalom, my brother

Thanks everyone for the condolences and it hit me a bit in Church this morning when we sang a song that put that lump in my throat and I quietly wiped tears running down my cheeks .pulled myself together and kept on singing.
Tomorrow I was chosen or “ voluntold “ to speak and please I ask God to speak His words and fill me with His Wisdom to do what I need to and say to get His message to the lost in my family.
I don’t want to see any perish without hearing the gospel of Jesus.
May I be His mouth piece at Dads burial I pray. <‘)))><

Keith,

Even Jesus couldn't reach all... When we are rejected in His name, we are blessed... If Christ himself couldn't get the rich man to follow him, how Can we expect to do more?  All we are called to do is to try!  I am sure you will speak from the heart and that is all we can do..the Holy Spirit must be invited in to go farther so the outcome is NO MEASURE of our success...  None of us wish to see other's perish, but then Salvation is not ours to give or withhold... :O

I have faith you will do well... As a dear old Black Lady I knew was fond of sayin, "Lord, Guide my lips..." :)

Peace brother

Very sorry for your loss, but hearing that he believed he was a sinner and knowing there is a savior makes death a lot easier to deal with..I pray the peace of God will sustain you and your family..

I want to update everyone that I appreciate all the prayers and condolences that were sent .
God spoke through me as I did the service for our Dad and I gave the gospel to all that were there.
I also told everyone that my Dad excepted Jesus and acknowledged with a Yes as I asked Him If He knew Jesus, asked for His forgiveness and I got a Yes as well.
I said more to Dad about Jesus and Salvation but definitely shared the Gospel.
Prayed and told a little about his life here on earth and closed the service.
One the hardest things one must do but Prayers were answered for sure.
Again Thank you everyone for holding my family and I up .
   God Bless all !

My friend,

It is NEVER easy to say goodbye to our parents, but it is an inevitable part of life, then we take our turn in the never ending line until Christ returns to set it all right again...

I'm glad to know it went well and God spoke thru you to those who would hear

God Bless you Keefer.  I cannot think of a more noble thing in life to do, than to honor a father to the Father, in the way you did.  You may never know on this earth how many more lives you have touched by your witness, by your sharing, by your obedience - one day you will see clearly those affected by your life, because of Whose you are, and Who you've shared.
Your dad obviously left a good legacy in the man you've become, and was no doubt proud of his son.
Well done Keefer, you're in my prayers.
