I have wished for years that I could get my wife interested in letting me travel that far for an event. It would really be nice to take her and have the same response that bunyan's wife had. No doubt, it was a fantastic shoot.

My friends and I have been going since 2000. Not always the same group due to other family things but we just go, have fun, eat  meat, drink a little beer, watch our kids get bigger n older, and just enjoy the fellowship...…….. and shoot a bit, sell n trade a bit...… n have fun...……….

Does anybody know the attendance amount this year?  I have went to each one of these except the first year and have never seen that many people attend.  Actually, there were too many for my taste but hate to break tradition and not go.

Talked to Mike Sunday morning he said 8,000 people and I saw camping tags with 450's on them Sat.  Will try to post some photos after she gets them loaded if I can

I ended up driving 450 miles round trip from Ohio and only stayed one hour. There was not a camping spot I could find Thursday morning. People were really packed in, I wouldn't have cared for it if I did find a spot. I drove back out and parked on the highway, then walked back in to check out the vendors. I bought a bow, blem 3d target, bow quiver, and thigh pouch. Then I headed home. I also had to eat the $55 bucks for the shooting and camping I didn't get to do.
Yesterday I called Potter Campground to reserve a cabin for next year, and they were gone already. I was able to reserve a primitive site though, so next year I at least know I have a place to stay.

While it certainly appeared crowded based on parking, we found that even on Saturday the courses were not jammed at all.  We shot some courses a second time on Saturday.  We had all of he courses shot by Friday.  The vendor tents were crowded but not as packed as some years back.  We certainly thought attendance was up but were surprised at how well everything flowed.  By the way, Allegheny River Campground still had primitive spots open and they have the river for fishing plus a pool.

Witherstick,  I must say the same thing.  You could hardly move, no where to camp and people as thick as fleas but we shot Cardiac Ridge without seeing another group Thursday and The Swamp Course Friday and passed one group and Nine Mile Friday and a large group let us by and we never saw another shooter!  Don't exactly know what the people were doing but the shooting was nice.

You are from Nobelsville?  You don't happen to know anybody named Brown do you?  Our cousins are from there.

I was there Friday and Saturday.  Luckily, or not, I live about a 2hr drive away so pretty easy to get there but sometimes think I should camp for the camaraderie.

Went solo Friday but met up with some good guys on Canadian course in the AM.  Western course in the afternoon and caught up with some guys from southern VA and shot with them.  Had a blast.

Saturday I brought my oldest son who shots more with wheels than his recurve but we hit Stickbow alley, Western, and 9 mile and he did great and, again, had a blast.   He was looking hard at a new 59 Kodiak at the Bear booth.  Even shot it a little.

Jeff: I had problems until I edited the pics. I had to crop them to make them smaller. I post from my iPhone 7. Hope this helps.

Longbowman, one of my sons had a teacher with the last name Brown and we have neighbors with the last name of Brown.

We knew it was really well attended, but my wife and I kept discussing how there were seemingly so few on the courses. It kind of seemed like many were just hanging out around campsites and visiting. Actually, it made for one of the best ETAR experiences we ever had. Everyone seemed relaxed and polite.

I’ll add to the sentiments expressed above. We had a friend that reported having a 2 hour wait shooting the Western course on Saturday morning. We never seen one shooter on Cardiac Ridge, few on the Swamp course, didn’t have to wait on anyone on the Canadian, and saw one group behind us on the Western (Sunday morning). I think the crowded times were early morning.

Oh yeah, we arrived on Monday morning and shot the Nine Mile on Wednesday.

We also had room in our spot for another tent or two.

Crazy, I knew camping was tight, but looked like less folks to me on the courses.  the vendors looked like the done well, which is great for everyone. Not many places left anymore where there is so much trust and respect.  Scott in PA I was one of those southern Va hicks! Enjoyed your company and great shooting.

Craig - I was hoping one of you guys would be on here.  That was fun.

Friday morning I had little delays on Canadian.  Saturday we had delays on the Western but it wasn't too bad.  Shot 9Mile after and the delays were more than I cared for.
