Squeaking glove and arrow
« on: August 08, 2019, 12:50:07 PM »
Hey guys.
Lately I've started noticing that as I draw back, my glove is making a creaking sounds against the arrow as it slides against it, which is unacceptable for deer hunting obviously. What might cause this and how can I fix it? Is my glove to dry? Do I need to do something to the arrow? I'd appreciate any help!

Powder works as does wax.

Thanks guys. I'll put something on it. Will string wax work?

I use a Damascus glove and every year I wash it with soap and warm water then put it on my hand, take it off and let it dry. Then I use Montana Pitch Blend to give it a good treatment, wipe off the excess and go shooting. When the leather gets dry it will squeak.

The wax solved the problem. Thanks guys!
Pat, I've thought about washing my glove but was ahead afraid if messing something up. I use an american leather big shot glove.

I do it to get the sweat salt and hand oil out of the leather that can rot it. It will stiffen up after it dries but with a good work over with a leather treatment will bring it back to life.

I'll give mine a good wash then. The string wax worked well and it no longer squeaks.

Anytime I hear a hear a squeak when shooting  I treat my glove with Montana pitch blend leather treatment. Let it dry. No more squeak. The leather in the finger area gets worn down when you release your arrow.  :campfire:
