It lives! My favorite bow is not kaput after-all
« on: August 15, 2019, 06:11:49 AM »
Well, some good/great news regarding my take-down 75lb Blackwidow longbow that had developed a small crack in the shelf area.

A few months ago I posted that I'd found the crack, and I thought it was terminal. I was devastated, as this is my all time absolute favorite bow. But on the advice from a member here on TradGang (many thanks Bryan), I got in touch with Roger at Blackwidow. I told him about what I'd found and sent him a few photo's, and he asked me to send it back so they could inspect it.

Well, to cut a long story short, I sent it back, they had a look, and they fixed it and sent it back. Thankyou Blackwidow. You little beauty   :clapper:

It's now back home, and still shooting fantastic. This is my first four shots at about 20 meters. The 5th arrow still in the quiver is my blunt. Man I like this bow.

Couldn't shoot it as much as I wanted to, as I'd only been able to shoot my 65lb Blackwidow longbow while the 75lb'er was away. Turns out I'd lost my 75lb bow-fittness. I reckon it'll take a couple of weeks or so to get it back. I used to shoot it for at least an hour most days, but ten or a dozen shots pulled me up this time. We'll get there though.

I cannot praise those at Blackwidow enough. Throught-out the entire process they were absolutely top notch. Roger kept me regularly up-dated via email. Simply superb customer service.

Great bows, great service & great people. That's why I keep going back.

Best
Lex

Their service is certainly top notch.

I recently got a PLX and it is quickly becoming my favorite bow as well!

Thanks guys,

Please let me assure you that I certainly don't shoot like that all the time.

I usually shoot ok, but I seldom stack them in like that.

It's great to have my favorite bow back, and nice to shoot it like that straight out of the box.

That was an exceptional few arrows though  :biglaugh:

Good thing you left that blunt in the quiver.....  you'd have tore up your arrows for sure!

Great news,  Black widow is top shelf.  Not bad shooting also.

I looked over a rack of Black Widows when we were down south.  The consistency of perfection was stunning.  You did not say how they fixed the crack.

I was going to suggest that after the 4th shot he didn't want to jinx himself and decided to leave the 5th arrow out for fear that the group would open up.  :biglaugh:

Nice work, mate. I don't know much about the traditional bow stuff but it certainly seems like Black Widow make top-notch gear.
