Nice little skinner
« on: August 18, 2019, 10:30:17 AM »
I was lucky enough to make up this nice little skinner for a fellow who's turning 80 soon.  The family went in on it and picked all of the details out.  It's my Small Game Hunter pattern in hollow ground AEBL steel, maroon linen micarta over white G10 liners for the scales, and has handmade 1/8" mosaic pins.  I made him a simple pocket slip sheath from kydex for discreet EDC carry as well as a custom fit leather sheath with double pointed basket-weave tooling, double row sitching by hand, and a custom mixed color to dye it to match the scales.  It will most assuredly see some blood this fall.  I think he's going to like it...

Thanks for the compliments.  It's a simple little knife by design but it's my preferred hunting/skinning knife.  My personal Small Game Hunter goes with me on every hunt.

Very nice work! All the lines are crisp. Fit and finish is excellent along with a sheath that compliments the knife really well. I love seeing work where you can tell the maker paid attention to the small details and you’ve done that in spades. He should be thrilled with that package. Nice job!  :clapper: :notworthy:

Thanks for the compliments. This one came out nice and clean. I’m looking forward to the photos from the field of it this fall all nice and dirty.
