I'm kind of with Jon Stewart.
Always have one back in camp with all that gear but never carried one in the woods.
Carry a few other items but not a string.
I guess if my string breaks ( because I didn't inspect it beforehand ) or I accidentally cut it then I should go back to camp.

Usually in the pocket of my Arrowmaster, but this year I will hunt at least part time with a bow quiver, so then a fanny pack.

I’ve got a well shot in string complete with silencers and brush buttons in a ziplock in my hunt pack along with a stringer . I’ve carried one for 40 years and needed it twice but it saved the hunt. It weighs nothing and takes up no room so why wouldn’t you carry one ?

Generally I carry one in my pocket if out and about around home. Out of state I tape one to the riser or quiver. Ive bowhunter for 40 plus years and never needed one yet, but you never know.

I have had 2 hunts ruined by cut or badly frayed string. It does happen. I carry a spare when I'm hunting. Always have a stringer too. I use a small vinyl pouch with snap closure I found somewhere. It is very thick to protect the string in my pack.

I carry an extra string that’s shot in when I’m hunting out of state. Hunting around home I don’t even think about it. I would just walk back to house. I’ve never needed the extra in 50 years

In a plastic bag in my pack usually. If I am using the stuff the pockets method I just shove it in a cargo pocket on my pants. I usually have another or even a backup bow in the truck too. I make my own strings...no reason not to have spares and I couldn't imagine how disappointed I'd be if I dedicated most of my practice time leading up to the season to one bow and then to not be able to finish a hunt because I had a slight accident with the string lol... That would be awful
