How do you carry a spare bow string?

I usually have my spare bow string wrapped in plastic wrap and tied to the main rod on my GFA quiver.
But I would like to hear how you carry one or even if you don't.

I used to have a bow string business that I closed maybe a year ago.  I still have more string sized ziplocks that I got on amazon than I could use in a life time.  I carry one or two extra strings in my hunting fannypack.

Fanny pack when hunting. For just 3D, shooting targets, etc. I don’t. Just go back to the car and get another bow.

In my fanny pack with other things like fire starter, flagging tape, etc.  In my very young days -- 40-50 years ago, I just taped an extra string to my bow limb.

I have two spare strings one in my Backpack and one in my Bino pack.

The handiest way that i ever found, "These pants don't need no dang suspenders, they don't even need a belt. I look like an old hillbilly with those suspenders."  Two hours later.  Faster than the speed of gravity, those pants hit the ground.  One suspender was a piece of parachute cord that I found in my coat pocket, the other was my spare bow string.

I have one in my pack, pre-stretched and pre-tuned to my bow, in the same bag that SBD Bowstrings sent it to me in.  I have two spares located in my custom fit travel case, pre-stretched and pre-tuned to my bow, in the same bag that SBD Bowstrings sent it to me in which would be back at camp somewhere.  I figure if I go through all of those, then the hunt isn't meant to be.

Small ziploc with the string from the year before - full label of specs. Buried in bottom of hunting pack - which has been small back pack - double fanny - regular fanny - over time. not without a back up string since 1975 and never needed it!!!

I also keep a large ziploc with a couple a dozen strings - all used all spec labeled - each in its own small ziploc - and these have been used a few times by visiting hunters - on group hunts - several times someone I did not know. These stay in my take down bow case with 18 arrows and lots of little stuff. So in camp - not carried in the field.

Gentlemen, another thought, If you shoot a super recurve as I do , don't forget a stringer. I've been changing strings to assure they are set. While stringing this morning I broke my stringer, can't find my backup. I sure hope Amazon can get them here soon. We leave for elk Friday morn.     "Nothing like a simple thing.........."

I carry my spare in a small, plastic, disposable container that gum or mints come in.  My wife saves them for me.  I use them now instead of the Ziploc bag, just for the extra protection afforded by they rigid container.

I nicked a string with a broadhead once a long time ago. It didn't break or cut all the strands but enough to make me nervous. Ever since I carried an extra string and stringer.

My first out of state bear hunt I was headed out for the first days hunt and noticed my string was cut.
Only a couple of strands but I put my spare string on and the rest of the hunt I was concerned about not having another spare. 
So out of state hunts I have a few extra strings and two bows.

Yes those way out of town hunts make me a bit paranoid about spares myself.  Usually they are in one of the zipper style plastic bags I get them in put in my gear bag.

I keep a spare string and stringer in my gear bag back at the farm house but I don't carry one while I hunt. I guess it would be a pain to have to walk all the way back to get it if needed... but it's not too big a deal.

On hunts away from my home territory I carry a couple of spares. They are down in my bigger gear bag somewhere along with the string wax, flat dental floss and some braided fishing line (that Spectra fishing line in 20# test is pretty handy for a lot of stuff!).

This will probably jinx me and I will go through half a dozen this year but, I haven't ever needed a spare string. I have buddies that I go on what we call "Adventure Hunts" (out of state or off our normal beaten path) that bring all kinds of stuff. Extra arrow shafts, fletching jigs and feathers, 2 or 3 bows... LOTS OF STUFF! I guess I go a minimalist route and just bring a few extra arrows, maybe a spare take down bow. Then again I am a pretty conservative (careful might be a better word maybe) hunter and stay away from "risk associated behaviors" that might cause me to need an entire spare dozen arrows or an entirely new bow for a hunt. Maybe I am just hunting on borrowed time. Of all the lessons bad luck has taught me, I guess this one is later on my syllabus.

On strings: I make 450x. I carry a spare, but I’ve shot skinny strings, so basically I could cut through 2/3 of the strands & be ok. I’d never fret about severing a few strands..I wouldn’t even change the string.

I carry my spare string in the same bag that 60X ships my strings in to me. That bag goes in the bag my Selway stringer is carried in.
