Rend Lake, Crab Orchard, and private ground. Killed 2 in 5 minutes last year on public land, just wish I had had my longbow with me that day. Didn't expect them to be so close.

Not me. My health will not allow it, plus I fell out there last week and having trouble with one of my feet.
72° and under for me.

I got in a little pre-season on the 30th of September and practically passed out from blood loss due to mosquitoes! I've never had to to worry about bugs before. :dunno:

sat out last night after work. had 12 does at 100+ yards working their way toward me around 7ish. They were not going to make it to me by shooting light so I slipped out unseen. I know where I'll be sitting next time. Hopefully they will be close enough for a shot.

I made it out the last two nights. Didn't see  anything but tree rats. Did hear a turkey.

My wife sat up last night, passed on a doe with twins and a small buck. then about 6:45 she sent me a video of a bobcat walking under the stand.

My son got a nice 5 point last night. A 25 yd. shot. He had 5 bucks in sight. Deer Went about 30-40 yd.

A friend who has a 19 week old tracking dog came out with the pup. There was no blood for the first 5 yards and the pup went off on a different track. Got him on the right track and the pup went right to him. That was the pup's first time in the field.

Good luck to all

I understand that a 190" was taken a few miles away. Do not know who but the friend who used his pup to find my son's deer was called to track. Don't know if it was the pup or his older dog.

I heard that he was setting on a chair in a bean field when it came out of the woods.

cut the corn in my field yesterday morning. sat in the stand from 4 until dark. Saw one 4pt, and a bunch of chipmunks. Was hoping for more action with the cold front. but the harvest moon has them feeding all night.

Sat out every day from the 8th through the 14th, with the exception of Friday which was a washout (game called due to rain...LOL!) Saw one itty-bitty doe on Tuesday, could have had a chip shot at 15 yards but I don't think there was 25 pounds of meat on the whole deer! Let her grow up a little. Spooked a deer yesterday afternoon walking in; she saw me long before I saw her! That's all, folks. My permit was only for 7 days so unless something changes, I'm done for this year.

Nobody else? My son drew a permit for the week before Christmas, so while I won't be hunting (by permit only) I'll hopefully be helping to track and recover.
