Lone Wolf Custom Gear Stand and sticks

I started using the Lone Wolf "Hang-n-Hunt" system last year, so I'm not using the brand new version.

I took apart the sticks and coated everything with the adhesive micro-fiber for silence. It is the absolute most productive method of treestand hunting I have ever done. Keeping in mind that I just started it last year, and I don't do it every time I hunt (I think I have used it 11 times)...I am 100% on seeing legal bucks using that system.

This new version looks awesome....I probably won't buy it because what I am using now is new and works great.

That said....the "too much $$" comments on here, thrown out in a condescending manner....crack me up. Guys that spend thousands on bows that mostly hang on a wall, cracking on a guy who has invested his personal money in an excellent system that is used to ACTUALLY HUNT.....too funny.

I sat last night in it and had 6 deer walk by and I hit a giant coyote just below the rib cage through the skin. Biggest coyote I’ve ever seen, not good. But yeah I’ll say I’ve used the run and gun technique with lone wolf stand since about 2003 and I’ve absolutely never looked back.  Even on my land and a buddy’s, as well as most of my sits in Illinois and Indiana I rarely sit the “norm” stands because I chase the wind and the deer. So I’m all about the element of surprise and WIND. you just can’t count on the same winds in the mid-west. So I’m doing this, I’m not a trophy hunter but I’ve killed lots of deer, and plenty of trophy’s. This system has allowed me to hunt the wind, the spot, and the activity I look for. It also shows you quickly what makes a good tree/spot once you mess up a few sits. I’ve opted for ground ambush where it’s just not going to happen from a tree. Gotta be versatile. Just this afternoon I set 4 stands. They’re probably pretty good spots, but in reality I’ll probably opt to sit them only rarely so they’re not overhunted, but also because the wind may just be wrong... wind, then location is everything to me

I got the stand for free. I sold a few old bows, a pack, Assault hang-on and sticks. Yes I could have put that money in the bank but I am happy with this purchase. The wait time was about 4 months as they were behind in production. What sold me was the compact stick design and the silent packability. The waist belt and seat that locks into a shelf makes a load feel very comfortable. There is an integral pack strap hanger as well.

I don't really like to mess with all of those straps while packing and unpacking. I use the one to loop around the top of the stand to keep the seat post locked down to the platform as shown on their website. I find it easier to use flat adjustable bungee straps to keep the sticks and Bison Gear pack to the stand.

I use a parachute cord loop on each side of my safety harness belt to carry two of the sticks. I keep the stick straps in my pockets and put them on when I hang each stick. The sticks will stack on the stand easier while packing without the straps. I don't have to mess with wrapping each strap on the sticks, just put them back in my pockets. I'd like to find a pouch to attach to my safety harness to store the straps.

I had one on order for a couple months, production was slow, and they couldn't get it to me in time. I had to cancel and got a Lone Wolf Assault, nice stand, but I think this Custom Gear stand is what I really want. Just need to sell the Assault and order another DQ 101. Scott.

I bought that pad maybe 5 years ago from 3R. It says lone wolf custom gear on It funny enough. But it’s a great pad. Aftermarket...

I have the assault and bought the custom straps from lwcg . I use 2 flat black bungees and cross them over each other keeps 3 sticks on solid no noise and it’s a quick set up . Switching to the rope mod on my sticks tried it on my bottom stick last 2 sits and I like it so switched the other 2 out .

Just out of curiosity, what is your size?  I am 6'1 but have a 34-35" inseam, an I am skeptical that the seat ht sl platform would be enough for me.  Thanks in advance.

5’10”. Yeah probably not the most comfy for ya, even with my plush seat. Well 6’1” can’t be bad, I would think the 6’4 or 5 might become too short. The platform is small, but that’s the point of the rig

A buddy of mine is 6’3 and another 6’1 as I think about it and both have hunted from my assault without complaints..can’t be perfect though

I am of similar size...6'1, 36 inseam. Just bought an assault this year. No lounge chair, but very tolerable. Pack mine just like Bchunter1.  I really like the looks of the Custom Gear stand. Looks very compact. Scott.

I can send one of my ropes and you can test it and see how it fits . I think the custom gear has a diffrent versa button.

It is different for sure. There’s no button it’s a screw with a built in washer, much smaller  than the plastic versa button
