Help me id this bow please!
« on: October 05, 2019, 09:39:10 PM »
The person I got this bow from claims it to be a Bear but there is no coin or decal located on the bow. Figured maybe someone here might be able to help me out! Thanks!

Not a Bear
I've come to that conclusion also. I've been searching old catalogues online and not having any luck.

i'd been scanning old Bear catalogues & couldn't find this.
That small cutout on bellyside of handle-window is unusual.

I was wondering if perhaps a Bingham like this "Basic" model:

or maybesomething like a Herters Perfection Turkish Hunter perhaps as a U-finish too.
(but i think their U-finish bows had the mustard coloured Farbenglas on the back &
yours seems to be all black .... has it been refinished?)

I have this posted on a Facebook group I follow and some folks say there that it could be a u finish bow also. It doesn't appear to have been refinished. Thanks a lot of for your help.

Your bow is a Darton magnum model.

Yup, Darton Magnum. Had one just like it.
We are all here because we are not all there.

1970 Darton catalogue .... "Magnum"
Note the styling of the lower_window-belly-grip with the notch taken out ....
.... seems to go across many models & perhaps unique to Darton?
