How many inches apart?
« on: October 07, 2019, 04:15:57 PM »
On a Rubber-Band Build, how many inches  away should I drill from one dowel to another?

Gap-space between Dowels
or
Center to Center

using 1/2 inch dowels
and bicycle tubes
,
Thank you
John

Mine are 2” center to center. But if I build another form, I’ll probably go to 2.25 or 2.5” just for a little more hand room when wrapping.

Mine are 2 to 2.5, however they are not 1/2" thick.  I use 3/8" dowels.  Once I used 7/16" and felt crowded.  It takes good dowels.  None of that "whatzit wood" dowels.  I use oak or I make my own with hickory.

I did my topless form on 2" centers your rubber band form could double as a topless fire hose form if you wanted !

If you fear failure, you will never try ! But never except it!!
