Not sure but I believe the Howatt stabilizer came out in 1969 or 1968 as a rosewood version and when you bought a Super Diablo - it and a vinyl case came with it. Then around 1970 or so they replaced the rosewood version with a metal (same style) one with a brass hilt. Bear archery also had a hunting stabilizer in all chrome which came with a black leather cover for it, though not sure what year it was introduced. Easton also came out with a camo stabilizer which I believe was about 7 or 8 inches long for hunting but was much longer then the other two mentioned. I have use the Howatt (metal version) and bear type over the years to get more mass weight on the bow to be more dead in the hand on release. Seems like there were some others marketed back then as hunting stabilizers. Must admit that I have been a member hear for some time but never posted.
