We set up camp on a gravel bar and being that you can’t hunt the same day you fly, we fished. We caught a bunch of greyling on a packable flyrod that I had brought. We camped a few days in each of the first three locations. We glassed one very big bull high up on the timberline about 3 miles away. Several miles down the river I had a bull come in for about a 12 yard shot, however I passed because he didn’t look like he would make the 50” min for the area that we were hunting. Being that close to a bull moose was definitely worth the trip. That was my one and only shot. In my mind he was a dead moose. It was a great 12 days!! When we came out of the bush, we found a heard of caribou about 2 miles out. We put on a stalk hoping to catch up got to about 400 yards. I can’t express what an awesome trip this was!!
