Bow Season Thoughts
« on: November 04, 2019, 02:01:14 PM »
My tradbow buddies and I hunt hard.  We feel the comradery of the success, the chances and the misses.  The phone calls, texts and hunting camp experiences.  It's all part of the traditional journey.  Accepting the challenges of getting traditional close.  Understanding the rewards for hard work and preparation.  For me it's not just a hobby.  It's a lifestyle.  Highs and lows, it's a adventure.
Last year my best bud Danny (Two Hats) and I both took does with our longbow on the first day of black powder season.  Guns going off at all points of the compass.  We did it the hard way.
This last Saturday we did it again. This time bucks were killed.   Memories will be cherished long after the season.  Congrats to all that have hunted traditional.  Hope your season is a success.  Game taken or not. Enjoy.

Oh Yeah forgot to make Allen Happy.  Both Deer taken with Ten Ring Strings...

Awesome result! And I share similar sentiments. Myself and two mates are about to head into the mountains for 5 days hunting red deer with bows.
each night we send each other pics of our practice, help with advice etc and planning. And each of us will be over the moon if any of us is successful. Its a great culture we share.

How lucky you and your friend are. Over time, I have learned that the lucky hunters tend to be the ones that do the hard work and develop the required skills. Congratulations!

Well done Jeff and Danny-that's the way to get it done. I'll be donning the orange this weekend and out with the 'bird.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.
