exactly Why I really like ILF.. I can get a limb, even if it isn't my 1st choice, I can be hunting and not going home early. You can get an ILF limb in about any city.

Ive been hunting with ILF bows for the last few seasons

Morrison 13" with blackmax extremes
VPA riser with several different limbs
Morrison 17" with border hex 7 limbs

Favorite setup is the morrison 13 with extreme limbs. 58" [email protected] sooo good

Lots of fun, tune-ablitiy, and lots of options.

you have to try the Max6 limb. If you draw 27 or less you can try mine.

This was my first season hunting big game with a recurve, and had some success with the Satori, Trad Tech limbs (turkey), and Uukak Evo limbs (antelope/elk).

Interesting that all length risers are in use, just shows that everybody likes different stuff. Keep it coming......

I was going this way I thought, but then I thought about all the adjustments and I thought there would be slot of tinkering needed. I’m more of a grip it and rip it guy. Is there a lot of adjusting done on these ILF rigs? Can they get knocked out of whack and then they need mechanicing?

There can be if a guy is changing arrows/ limbs/ and tinkering with form etc...but my experience is...once a set of limbs are mounted, adjusted, tiller, brace and string are set...it’s just any other bow...I rarely mess with any adjustment on my ILF bows other than the rest (simple plastic threaded rod that acts as an adjustable side plate for tuning)...and I have never had one get “bumped” off.

It’s a good idea to check some of the adjustment screws from time to time to make sure they are not loose, but that’s really not any different than visual checks you make with any other bow...again, after a little locktite I’ve never had a screw come loose

The great thing I like about Morrison risers is that the plunger hole is right down on the shelf...I’m not an elevated rest guy, and this is great for me...I get to shoot off the shelf, but can still fine tune an arrow with a simple cheap plastic threaded side plate rod.

Once set up to my liking I have never had one go out of adjustment, once tuned it’s just another T/D bow .

This is spot on. I've never once had a bow go out of adjustment after initial set up. Ive found pretty much all of my ILF rigs to be bombproof but i agree the morrisons are exceptional and my favorite risers.

Thank you. I should have asked how tough is the initial set up. Thanks Guys

Initial setup is simple
Mount limbs...string up...check/adjust so that the string is tracking down the center of the bow (simple Allen adjustment screws)

Adjust desired tiller (simple Allen adjustment of tiller bolts)

Start shooting...and adjust rest/tune arrow as normal.

One of those things where the first time seems tricky...but the second time is like no big deal

If you want to call me and discuss some of the nuances of these adjustments drop me a pm

The really cool thing about ILF is you can build a bow for anyone.  Bob Morrison has a short draw so he's got the 13" and short or extrashort limbs.  I have a long draw so mine is a 19" with long limbs.  Cool stuff and it goes together without tools in the field.

Been shooting a 17" JC Optimus riser with a set of his medium carbon/foam limbs at about 44-45 at my 29". Shoot this rig significantly better than any other bow. Seriously thinking about going to a set of super curves for a little more performance although I'm pretty dang happy as is! LOL

Using a 19” Satori with 50# Satori limbs - I’m still working on quieting it a little more but I did take deer with it this year. I’ve noticed no difference in the amount of tinkering required with any other traditional bow I’ve owned, in fact I just tightened both limbs down and tuned it up. I will say I shoot it better than any bow I’ve ever owned and that’s why it’s become my go-to and stuck around. I like the idea of wood and customs and all that but the bow flat out shoots so what can I say?

I love ILF...acutally I love all bows...hate to discriminate. lol.  I enjoy the versatility and ease of tuning.  I have several metal and wood ILF risers, mostly 17" and 19" that I run with long limbs.  I like the metal risers, because I can use a NAP center rest which is easy to tune and I use vanes with those arrows, which I also enjoy.  I'm also a big fan of affordability.  You can get some really nice ILF limbs for less than $200.  Try getting a pair of proprietary limbs for less than $400, nearly impossible.  I actually think that an ILF setup is ideal for new trad archers as well.  They can pick up inexpensive limbs in a low weight to work on form and move up in weight inexpensively as they gain experience.

I have a Morrison 17" riser that I pair with either medium 46# Max 6 limbs or medium 45# Border Hex 8h limbs.
I still also shoot my Border Covert Hunter with 50# medium Hex 9h limbs.  I had the Border IL limbs sold so I bought the Covert Hunter.  But as so often happens, the guy backed out.  Now I have extra bows.  Again/still.
My fault for trusting the guy.

I find that the ILF risers are nice in that you can find different grips.  My only complaint with the Border Covert Hunter was the grip.  It was a thick throat compared to IL grips.  On this one Sid (Border Archer owner) thinned it down a bit for me.  Much nicer now.
Super Curves.....
Covert Hunter Hex9h
Morrison Max 6 ILF
Mountain Muffler strings to keep them quiet
Shoot as much weight as you can with accuracy
