Kids have been sick. But there are some things tylenol cant fix. Some medication is for the soul.  Hope these bring smiles to your faces this season. Enjoy the time you have with the ones you love. Happy holidays.

Ps littlest boy got up from nap and grabbed his bow before pants. Boy has his priorities straight.

The hilarious thing is to watch them shoot. The three shooters (one not pictured she wasnt feeling so festive) are 7, 5, and 2 years old. The older ones hit the target pretty often but they are slow at loading arrows. The 2 year old can shoot 3 arrows for every one of the others. He is so motivated and loads just slightly slower than I do. It's pretty ridiculous. For any nay sayers on a 2 year old being too young to have his own bow, I may need to video it.  If they can walk they can shoot.

Can I dare to make a change to a fred bear quote?  He said "nothing clears a troubled mind like shooting a bow"  and I believe this is true with all my soul. Archery is how I decompress from work and without it I would be in trouble. But I dare change it slightly "nothing brings joy to a mans heart like watching children learning shoot a bow". Or maybe even better yet "nothing delights a man more than to watch his children practice his instruction".

Anyway makes me smile hopefully you all too. I will take pics at our next family shoot.  I know we will have a Christmas morning shoot. Starting to become a family tradition.

That is friggen awesome.  Truly did bring a smile to my face.

I must admit....I laughed even harder when I noticed mismatched socks and I believe shoes on the wrong feet.

Priorities!!! LOL

You are correct. Both boys reliably put shoes on the wrong feet. Have no idea why but no matter what I say that's what happens naturally. Told older boy Huckleberry that he couldn't come out until he put shoes and socks on. He raided his sister's clothing drawer just to shoot.

Glad you enjoyed! Most of the year Louisiana can be just a miserable place. But evenings like this are paradise. 65 degrees light breeze and a sinking sun. Just incredible.

JMHO, but I think we put way too little importance on the issue of passing it on and paying it forward WRT kids, even if they are someone else's kids.
As quickly as trad became a 'thing' when a lot of us got too much technology shoved down our throats, it could quickly go back to being old hat. It only takes a generation to drop the ball, and most of the greats from the Golden Age of Archery are gone now. If we can't keep the flame burning, it could flicker out with the next generation.
Dave, I applaud you for getting them started and passionate at an early age. They will always remember it even if they choose not to bowhunt, or hunt at all. :shaka:

Appreciate that. All of my kids love archery but it might just be they love spending time with dad. Either way it's a win. Yes we are charged with keeping the flame burning.
