I’m going in morn if it works out. Gonna hit the ground game tomorrow and try out a sapper  jacket I bought awhile back ...

Good luck to you all!! I’m still seeing bucks, this snow may narrow down where to be...
Stay sharp, Kenny.

I’m after them still but not as hard. I’ve been seeing 4 small bucks running together and saw 8 does crossing my field about 8:00 this morning. This time of year it gets hard to have time to get out with all the family things.

I've still been after them as much as time allows.  I've had to work the past 5 days, but I'll be back at it again tomorrow morning.  I'm having good luck getting on the bucks, just haven't taken a shot yet.  Maybe tomorrow will be different.  Either way, I really enjoy this time of year to be out hunting.

Got to hunt last night.

Saw 10, 9 of which were does that are now off-limits to shoot as of (Dec. 14th.) (1 day before)

A little 6 ptr was only a step or two away from coming with me.

Maybe get to hunt one more time before it is all over.

Season here ends tomorrow and they are calling for freezing rain from 5am through tomorrow night. I’m gonna suck it up and go out in the morning for my last hurrah of the season.
Do not follow where the path may lead.  Go, instead, where there is no path and leave a trail.

I am - I hit a very large buck high and forward in the shoulder on 11/9.  Arrow all but bounced off of him...  No excuse beyond pure buck fever   :bigsmyl:  He's now back on the trail cameras so I'm still trying to hunt as often as I can hoping to get a second chance.

It's amazing how bad your shot can be with traditional equipment when you don't follow through on your form!  LOL

I have a couple doe tags still to fill and the weather has been pretty decent for this time of year (10-25F).  Hunted on place I have permission to only shoot does on last Thursday and Friday evenings.  I saw 25-30 deer each time with 10 being bucks on Thursday night.  (3) of the bucks were 5 x 5 roughly 135-140" class coming to an unpicked soybean field.  Does on this place are not as easy as a person would think with a lot of eyes and noses.  They also tend to come to the field in a variety of spots.  Should be able to get out a couple of more times before the seasons end on 1/1.

I went Saturday morning.  Had a small doe come in right at daylight.  She acted like she was walking on eggshells nervous as she could be.  Got her just right and started to draw and she looked right at me.  I finished my draw and shot.  She did some crazy dodge and spin and I missed.

My son was in another part of our place and saw two different groups of 4.  No shots for him too many eyes.  Man it’s tough hunting right now.

David, it’s been one of those years in Ark . I’ve had several deer bust me this year and had friends say the same.. not sure what’s up. But with Little to no cover in the trees it’s hard to not look like a gorilla on a flagpole.
Last week I had a nice 10 point at 18 yards spot me in the tree but continued on only to string jump me pretty bad.

Too much snow in the woods up here at this point to get to my spots. Besides they've all moved to the swamp on private ground. However once finals are done this week and I can head home for break, I'll be out as much as possible. I love hunting the last week or so of season. Pretty much have the woods to myself, there's snow on the ground, and the deer are a bit easier to pattern.

Done for deer.  Got drawn for early season (archery) on government land, but was not able to get out.  Did not put in for general season drawing.  Still have permit for hogs and exotics though, so there is hope, through May 2020.

So far the only ones in range have been either too small or have not offered an ethical shot angle. So, I may still have time once or twice before the season ends to get out and see what I can do.

I'm headed out in the morning.  I have not been able to get a doe in range for a month now.  I need one more for the freezer.
